Other Professionals

Other professionals supporting mediators in the resolution of disputes.
Within the various field to which mediation can be applied in South Africa mediators will need the support of various other professionals.
If we look at general civil mediation it is clear that mediators will need to work together with lawyers, advocate, magistrates, judges and administrative staff. Mediation is not a dispute resolution process that take place within a vacuum.
Within divorce mediation, and other family mediation, a mediator may work in a multidisciplinary team with lawyers, family advocates, social workers, psychologists, parenting coordinators and voice-of-the-child practitioners. Every professional need to play their role to resolve the dispute as amicable as possible, and to ensure that the process take place in the best interest of the child.
